Board of Assessors approves exemptions, abatements in executive session.

HOLLISTON — Board of Assessors approves veterans exemptions and property abatements totaling $2.3 million in value. Chair Jeffrey Marshall, members Amy Gow and Patrick Hafford approved three veterans exemptions worth $88,493.89 in assessed value and granted 15 abatement applications, while denying six applications, all by unanimous vote in executive session. Staff Kevin Rudden reported that Town Manager Frank Gervasio requested a $1,000 reduction in the assessors' $2,000 training budget increase as part of town-wide deficit control; Rudden agreed.

The board plans to present its Fiscal Year 2027 budget proposal to the Select Board on February 28 and to discuss proposed Annual Town Meeting warrant articles on March 9.
