HOLLISTON — Board of Health continues septic variance hearing, fields public concerns on enforcement. Peter Liffiton (Chairperson), Brian Simons (Vice-Chairperson), and Jay Leary (Clerk) voted unanimously to continue the 762 Adams Street hearing to April 14 at 7:15 PM. Health Director Scott Moles reported 80 food permits and no major violations at WSK; the board approved six Form A applications, three septic plans, and four perc tests.
Public comment pressed the board to adopt livestock regulations and issue a formal statement on water-quality risks from a proposed 250-unit housing development on the town's Zone 2 aquifer, but Liffiton and Simons said the board lacks expertise to evaluate large systems and will defer to the DEP while monitoring concerns.
