HOLLISTON — Board of Health tables draft rooster regulations for further study after hearing testimony from five residents. Chairperson Peter Liffiton, Vice-Chairperson Brian Simons, and Clerk Jay Leary voted unanimously to continue deliberation. Residents questioned whether the regulations adequately defined noise-measurement standards, specified enforcement penalties, and addressed protections for farms under the town's Right to Farm bylaw.
Barbara Ryan urged the Board to adopt an outright residential rooster prohibition instead of a complaint-driven system. The Board separately approved two Form A permits and one septic plan, and flagged soil contamination concerns on a proposed 40B development on Lowland Street.
