Holliston Board of Health schedules February public hearing on rooster regulations. Vice-Chairperson Brian Simons and Clerk Jay Leary heard from Health Director Scott Moles that drafted rules have gone to the Town Council, Animal Control officer, and Agricultural Commission, with public notice to be posted 10 to 14 days before the hearing. Two residents offered comments on noise, nuisance, and reasonability concerns.
The board also heard from James Keast on the downtown sewer project's Phase 1, which has secured $1.5 million in MassWorks grants, with bidding to start spring 2026 and construction running fall 2026 through spring 2027; 57 properties have expressed interest in the district, with annual operation and maintenance costs estimated at $196,000.
