Finance Committee reviews FY2027 departmental budgets.

Finance Committee · Meeting of March 10, 2026

HOLLISTON — Finance Committee reviews eight departmental budgets for FY2027 operations. Town Manager Frank Gervasio presented budgets for Select Board, Human Resources, Treasurer/Collector, Employee Benefits, Motor Vehicle Fuels, Liability Insurance, and Street Lighting, noting that the town's transition to GIC for health insurance has proven cost-effective. Gervasio reported that Keefe Tech's final assessment came in approximately $37,000 below budget and that the warrant closed with 38 Articles, including nine from the Board of Assessors proposing expanded tax exemptions and deferrals for seniors and veterans.

Chair Ken Szajda requested data on the fiscal impact of those exemptions on other town residents.
