Finance Committee · Meeting of March 3, 2026
HOLLISTON — Finance Committee reviews seven FY2027 departmental budgets in first meeting after February blizzard closure. All seven committee members attended the March 3 remote meeting, with Town Manager Frank Gervasio presenting budgets for technology, facilities, wastewater treatment, rail trail, sustainability, economic development, and solid waste. The wastewater budget featured discussion of a downtown sewer service initiative backed by a $1.5 million MassWorks grant and a $1 million federal grant, with treatment plant upgrades and a shift from methanol to citrus-based solution planned.
Gervasio reported snow and ice removal expenses have exceeded budget projections, excluding the recent blizzard, and noted the town is recruiting a new economic development coordinator.
