Historical Commission approves March minutes, addresses collection policies.
Historical Commission · Meeting of April 15, 2026
HOLLISTON — Historical Commission advances collection management policy after state archivist assessment. Chair Sara Zarrelli shared a draft Collection Policy Statement developed following recommendations from Sarah-Jane Poindexter, a roving archivist assigned by the Massachusetts Historical Commission, with a June 2026 reporting deadline to the state. The Commission plans to meet with the Economic Development Committee to complete outreach before engaging the Planning Board; the 1776 timeline poster project nears completion for Town Meeting night display on May 11; and the board is recruiting a replacement member after visitor Greg Schumacher volunteered.
Despite Town Manager Frank Gervasio's notification that budget requests cannot be honored this fiscal year, the Commission is proceeding with Holliston History Day planning.
