HOLLISTON — Conservation Commission issues compliance certificate, orders site investigation. The Holliston Conservation Commission unanimously approved a Certificate of Compliance for a completed Department of Public Works drainage replacement project at 35 and 41 Pleasant Street, closing an open Order of Conditions after the original concrete pipe failed and was replaced with plastic. The seven-member commission directed Conservation Agent Tyler Skrzypiec to investigate a three-acre forest clearing near Hopping Brook Road that Commissioner Allen Rutberg observed during a site visit, noting the work appeared to exceed one acre and may have impacted wetland or riverfront areas without permits.
The commission also discussed educational outreach on dark-sky-compliant lighting to address wildlife impacts in forested conservation areas and received updates on an Open Space and Recreation Plan mapping project, town forest trail improvements, and an Eversource utility maintenance project beginning January 30 along Norfolk Street in the Arcadia Farms wetland area.
