Holliston Delays Downtown Street Repaving To Aug. 10

HOLLISTON — Holliston has pushed back the start of repaving work on six downtown streets to Aug. 10, giving crews additional time before construction begins on Pleasant, Spring, School, Exchange, Mechanic and Union streets, the town said in an updated News Flash notice.

The town's public works schedule now has crews starting on Pleasant Street, Spring Street, School Street, Exchange Street, Mechanic Street and Union Street once the Aug. 10 date arrives, with additional streets slated for repair the week of Aug. 10, according to the update posted to the town website.

Separately, the Conservation Commission is looking to fill an open volunteer seat on the board, the latest town committee to post a vacancy notice this week.

SCHOOLS

The Holliston School Building Committee posted a new letter to families as the district's ongoing facilities work continues, according to a notice on the town's website. No additional details were included in the posting.

COMING UP

Residents can attend a question-and-answer session on a proposed Groundwater Protection By-Law Amendment on Wednesday, Aug. 12, held in Room 105 and remotely.

Several town boards also meet in the coming week: the Board of Assessors on Monday, Aug. 10, in Room 105; the Board of Health on Tuesday, Aug. 11, remotely; the Community Preservation Committee and the Trails Committee on Wednesday, Aug. 12, in Room 105 and Room 200 respectively, both with remote options; and the Sewer Commission on Thursday, Aug. 13, in Room 105 and remotely.
