Holliston Seeks Volunteer To Fill Open Parks Commission Seat

HOLLISTON — Holliston officials are looking for a resident to fill an open seat on the Parks Commission, the town said this week, the latest in an ongoing push to fill vacant volunteer posts across town boards.

The Parks Commission has one open seat available for a resident willing to help oversee the town's parks and recreation facilities, according to the town's website. The opening follows Holliston's recent call for volunteers to serve as Zoning Board of Appeals alternates, part of a broader town effort this summer to recruit residents for committee service. The town has not posted an application deadline for the Parks Commission seat.

SCHOOLS

Holliston Public Schools has posted its early fall events calendar. Preschool and kindergarten families can attend a back-to-school night on September 15, followed by a session for grades 1 and 2 on September 17. The district will also host "Celebrate Holliston-Damigella Field" on September 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an elementary multilingual-learner family potluck and a Unified Arts back-to-school night both set for October 15.

COMING UP

The Zoning Board of Appeals meets remotely on Monday, August 31. The Keefe Tech School Committee, which represents Holliston along with other member towns, meets the same day at 750 Winter Street in Framingham.
