Holliston appoints Fitzgerald to School Committee in contested joint vote. The Select Board and School Committee jointly appointed Sarah Fitzgerald to fill a vacant seat through May 2027 in a 7-0-1 vote, with Select Board Clerk Tina Hein abstaining. Fitzgerald's appointment came after public debate over whether the Select Board should participate in the selection process.
The board also reorganized its School Building Committee, eliminating a legal-background seat and adding engineering and architecture seats, appointing Deborah Moore, Barbara Ryan, and Christy Opper. Sewer Commission Chair John Cronin reported the downtown wastewater project has applied for $4.8 million in state funding that would complete project financing.
