Select Board appoints Durling to Open Space Committee, closes May Town Meeting warrant

HOLLISTON — Select Board unanimously appointed Bob Durling to the Open Space Committee for a term expiring June 2026 and closed the May 2026 Town Meeting warrant. The meeting featured an update from Senate President Karen Spilka and State Representative James Arena-DeRosa on federal and state budget reductions affecting SNAP, healthcare, and education; Spilka praised the town's MSBA High School project and $1.5 million MassWorks grant for downtown sewer work. Principal Assessor Kevin Rudden presented Board of Assessors articles including a proposal to nullify an October 2025 Town Meeting vote per a Department of Revenue decision, along with items addressing senior exemptions and small business support.
Board members committed to consulting the School Committee before removing any articles from the May warrant.
