HOLLISTON — Select Board approves May town warrant with DPW debt exclusion question. Chair Ben Sparrell, Vice Chair Damon Dimmick, and Clerk Tina Hein voted unanimously to place on the May 19 ballot a question seeking to exempt the town from Proposition 2.5 for 60 percent of the principal and interest payable annually for a $48.34 million bond to design and construct a municipal Public Works facility at 63 Arch Street. Weston and Sampson representatives presented the schematic design and cost estimate; the project is halfway through design and will go to bid in the fall with an estimated 18 to 20 months to completion.
Multiple Arch Street residents raised concerns about site visibility, parking, and neighborhood impact; the board voted unanimously to reorder warrant articles and approved a revised Capital Budget of $1,303,000.
