Select Board approves solar contracts, removes DPW article from May warrant
Select Board · Meeting of April 27, 2026
HOLLISTON — Select Board unanimously authorizes solar power agreements, warrants changes. The Holliston Select Board voted 3-0 on April 27 to empower Town Manager Frank Gervasio to execute power purchase agreements with Solect Energy for solar installations at Adams Middle School and Placentino Elementary School, contingent on contract execution by May 1, 2026. In a related warrant adjustment, Chair Ben Sparrell, Vice Chair Damon Dimmick, and Clerk Tina Hein voted unanimously to remove the DPW Facility Funding Article from the May 2026 Town Meeting after learning that 20 Cross Street may exit Land Court soon, potentially offering lower-cost alternatives to the proposed Arch Street site.
The board deferred the DPW project to the Fall 2026 warrant while preserving the May ballot question. Separately, the board approved acceptance of approximately 30 acres of open space on Prentice and Bonney Drive for Conservation Commission oversight.
