Town Forest Committee reviews trail-naming proposals for forest parcels.

Town Forest Committee · Meeting of January 12, 2026

HOLLISTON — Town Forest Committee debates trail mapping and signage options for Tri-Town forest parcels. Committee members Jason Breslau, Joanne Hulbert, John Goeller, Kevin Keenan, Mike Carvalho, and Tyler Skrzypiec reviewed three design proposals: a lettered-section system (A–G) with numbered intersections, a fire-road hierarchy model, and an entry-point identifier approach. Breslau suggested Quinobequin Woods as an overall system name.

Concerns were raised about sign durability on trees versus posts and the need for many markers. The committee deferred decisions and tasked members with reviewing and updating the Town Forest mission statement by the next meeting.
