Trails Committee approves 2025 accomplishments, defers 2026 goals.

HOLLISTON — The Holliston Trails Committee unanimously approved its 2025 accomplishments summary but deferred discussion of 2026 goals to allow members more time for review. Chair Robert Weidknecht reported that engineering bids for the Phipps Tunnel Granite Wall repair came in at approximately $50,000 each; citing Mass Trails grant limitations, the committee recommended the Select Board not pursue that grant application at this time and instead seek alternative funding, which Weidknecht is currently exploring. The committee also honored John E.
Thomas, recently deceased visionary for the Upper Charles Trail system, and thanked the Department of Public Works and Friends of Holliston Trails for supporting the First Night walk. The next meeting is set for February 11, 2026.
