Town Meeting · Meeting of October 19, 2026
Holliston Town Meeting fixed a four-year capital fund accounting error and passed a contested groundwater protection bylaw. Voters sent $3,040,544 in free cash to the Capital Expenditure Fund after Finance Committee member Michelle said the fund's unencumbered balance had fallen roughly $758,000 below policy minimums since fiscal 2022, calling the lapse "unacceptable" and questioning why the town's auditor missed it. Select Board Chair Damon Dimmick called it "an administrative reporting error, not a failure of oversight." All 18 warrant articles passed, including $3,172,030 in capital spending and a groundwater zoning amendment that cleared by hand count, 123 to 25, after Planning Board Chair Barbara Petey defended its limits on business land use near Zone 2 wells.
Town Meeting also referred a Constitution Village streetlight funding request, backed by 24 signatures representing 50 households, to the Select Board and Town Manager.
