Community Preservation Committee reviews project updates, receives funding requests

Holliston Community Preservation Committee advances Lake Winthrop assessment, receives senior center and housing proposals. The committee heard a Lake Winthrop health-assessment presentation with $35,010 in Community Preservation Act funding from the $39,700 project; preliminary testing through August showed a Secchi depth of 5 feet with invasive plants to be mapped. The Holliston Center requested $125,000 for an ADA-compliant Senior Center Sensory Garden designed for older adults.
The committee also reviewed a Shared Housing Services Office pilot program beginning January 1, 2027, aimed at reaching the town's 10 percent affordable housing requirement. In project updates, HYBSA youth sports improvements included $45,000 in completed batting-cage and dugout work with fencing scheduled next.
