Trails Committee approves mower purchase, Girl Scout Wind Phone project, $64K trail grant

HOLLISTON — Trails Committee approves Girl Scout Wind Phone, mower purchase and $64K state trail grant. Girl Scout Troop #67202 won unanimous approval for a Wind Phone installation approximately 500 feet north of the Parks and Recreation Building as a Silver Award project, with Holliston Youth and Family Services managing maintenance. The committee unanimously approved up to $3,000 for a radio-controlled flail mower to control weeds on slopes.
The committee received a $64,000 MASS Trails Grant for Monroe Drive improvements with a June 2027 completion deadline; Chair Robert Weidknecht will coordinate with Conservation Commission and Mosquito Control, while member Herbert Brockert consults with the Department of Public Works.
