Holliston School Committee ratified a nurses' contract and flagged a possible multimillion-dollar track rebuild. The committee voted 7-0 to fold school nurses into the teachers' union contract signed August 12, and separately raised Miller School nurse staffing from 0.5 to 0.75 FTE. Resident and coach Andy Downing told the board the high school track, resurfaced in 2025, is "not usable," with Chair Sarah Fitzgerald asking, "First and foremost, is this unsafe?" The committee also approved $955,000 in capital requests for October Town Meeting, covering Chromebooks, security cameras and door replacements.
Separately, a town finance official reported the capital expenditure fund has been misreported since fiscal 2022, leaving a true balance of about $704,000 against a roughly $829,000 policy shortfall, prompting an outside audit ahead of a September 30 certification deadline.
