School Committee · Meeting of April 30, 2026

HOLLISTON — The Holliston School Committee voted 6-0 to trim its fiscal 2027 budget request and authorize a solar lease for two schools. Budget Subcommittee Chair Dan Alfred said the Finance Committee agreed to add $60,000 to fund a district coordinator position, bringing the total request to $45,874,162, calling it "the finance committee's recommended budget." The committee separately authorized Superintendent Dr. Kreska to sign a solar lease covering Adams Middle School and Placentino Elementary School.

During public comment, Jess Ommen declined an appointment to fill a vacant seat, saying "this decision should be made by the public at the ballot box." Members also approved a community email on the Massachusetts School Building Authority feasibility study and set town meeting for May 11 at 7 p.m.
