School Committee · Meeting of May 12, 2026
Holliston School Committee Chair Sarah Fitzgerald pledged no operational override and backed the launch of a high school feasibility study in a May 12 candidate interview on HCAT. Fitzgerald, seeking a second three-year term in the May 19 town election, said the district's approximately $48 million budget is in stable shape compared to neighboring communities, with no override planned even as a new teachers contract cycle begins in the fall. She described the Massachusetts School Building Authority feasibility study for a potential new high school as beginning June 1, running roughly 270 days, and overseen by a school building committee of about 13 members.
The district has also been accepted into a separate MSBA program for roof repairs at Miller and Placentino elementary schools. Cronin noted three candidates are running for two open seats on the committee.
