Holliston School Committee held a public hearing on a $45,972,162 fiscal 2027 budget, a 3.61 percent increase that includes $158,000 in new priority needs. The district is pursuing $2.5 million for a high school feasibility study, proposed by Town Manager Frank Gervasio and school officials, headed to the May 11 Annual Town Meeting. Parent Ann Kanoni criticized new middle school math and science placement rules, saying "my big concern is a lack of transparency throughout this whole process." Robert Adams Middle School will offer just one 23-seat honors science section next year, down from a historical two to three, because nearly 39 percent of the incoming class carries an IEP, a level officials said risks triggering state special-education classification rules.
The committee also approved a 2028 trip to France, Germany and Switzerland and backed a state climate literacy bill.
