Historical Commission appoints archive subcommittee, advances district planning

HOLLISTON — Historical Commission appoints archive subcommittee, reports progress on Village Commercial District planning. Chair Sara Zarrelli presided over the June 17 meeting with members Melissa Kretching, Greg Schumacher, Kathryn Seekell, Patricia Pereira, and Vice-Chair Frank Chamberlain. The commission unanimously approved May minutes and appointed a three-person Archive Subcommittee comprising Kretching, Schumacher, and Chamberlain in a 5-0 vote.
Zarrelli and Chamberlain reported that May meetings with the Economic Development Committee, Envisioning Holliston, and the Sewer Commission on Village Commercial District planning were productive and well-received by EDC Chair John Drohan. The commission will pursue fall planting around the Civil War Monument and submit a Community Preservation Commission application for Jasper's Rock sign replacement by July 15.
