Holliston Select Board Directs Policy Advisory Committee Toward Community Engagement

Holliston Select Board directs its Policy Advisory Committee to prioritize community outreach over direct departmental review. At the February 25 meeting, Chair Benjamin Sparrell told committee representatives Mariah Cajuste and Robert Principe that elected boards, not a small advisory panel, are the appropriate channel for reaching town departments, and encouraged the committee to "meet people where they are" to educate residents about the scope of diversity, equity, and inclusion work. Sustainability Coordinator Amelia Landau reported that a proposed wellhead protection bylaw will target the October 2026 Town Meeting rather than May, pending community engagement and a state Eco One Stop grant application due March 10.
The board voted 3-0 to amend its October 27, 2025 minutes to clarify the motion language on a Bee Social alcohol license held in escrow, and approved a consent agenda including a Common Victualler's License for Giardino's Italian and Sushi at 414 Washington Street and the appointment of David Stanley as Deputy Wiring Inspector through June 30, 2026. Town Manager Frank Gervasio reported warrants of $2,837,558.45 and $1,798,047.48 signed since the last meeting.
