Holliston Select Board updates e-bike rules, releases liquor license, and debates student parking safety. The board voted 3-0 on all formal actions at its May 18 meeting, adopting amended traffic rules and regulations that ban electric bikes and scooters from sidewalks and exclude electric motorcycles from the town's rail trail, consistent with state law. The most contentious discussion centered on 30 to 40 students parking daily on Marked Tree Road, Robin Hill Road, and Greenview Drive near Holliston High School; Chair Benjamin Sparrell said he will attend the May 28 School Committee meeting to seek a partnership, and the board expects a formal enforcement proposal from the Police Department at its June 8 meeting. The board also directed Town Manager Frank Gervasio to draft two letters regarding the proposed 40B development at 194 Lowland Street, one to the Zoning Board of Appeals on pedestrian safety and one to the DEP on wastewater treatment and water quality, covering PFAS testing concerns raised by resident Dr.
Liz Theiler.
