Board of Assessors prepares response to Finance Committee warrant article concerns

HOLLISTON — Board of Assessors plans response to Finance Committee concerns about warrant articles. Facing initial opposition from the Finance Committee over missing explanatory text and perceived bias in senior exemptions, Chair Jeffrey Marshall and staff member Kevin Rudden planned to present detailed cost information at the Finance Committee's April 28 meeting. If the Finance Committee maintained its opposition, the Board would distribute information sheets to residents at the Annual Town Meeting.
The Finance Committee subsequently voted to support all but one article, according to a note in the Board's minutes. Staff updated the Board on the FY2027 assessment timeline, with preliminary values due by mid-September.
